THE A.D.I. DRIVING TEST

For those who have ambitions to become an Approved Driving Instructor, otherwise known as an A.D.I, they will have to pass a series of three tests set by the Driving Standards Agency. Full details of these tests and relevant information can be found elsewhere on this site by following the link to ‘The Road To Becoming An A.D.I.
The first is a rather stringent test, the details of which can be found on the link to the   A.D.I. Theory Test’.

The second one you will have to take is the Practical Driving Test. It is an extended one hour test modelled on the common learners’ driving test and includes all the usual standard manoeuvres with the addition of fast roads and possibly motorways.

You are required to drive to a very high standard and to be successful you must complete the course with no more than six minor faults. A minor fault can be something as simple as signalling too early, missing a mirror observation or touching a kerb on a manoeuvre and many more besides. Since the average adult cannot maintain full concentration for more than twenty minutes at a time you will appreciate that six minor faults can be accumulated very easily in the space of one hour.

You are only allowed three attempts at the practical test and though you think may know the theory it is another thing trying to put it into practise – breaking bad habits being one of the main problems.

The test therefore is not easy and it should not be taken lightly if unnecessary loss of expensive entrance fees is to be avoided. You will need all the help you can get to ensure success. You can never be too well prepared.

With this in mind Drivers World has compiled a comprehensive set of Visual Aids Modules which is designed to assist you on the test. They are provided for use as a learning tool and follow closely the D.S.A. syllabus for driving instructor training.

It would benefit you greatly to study these modules in detail for your practical test and by doing so give yourself an excellent chance of passing on the first attempt.

To give you a flavour of the standard which is required Drivers World has provided a FREE ‘Controls’ module complete with diagrams and comprehensive notes covering all the points you should be aware of. Have a look at it and judge for yourself whether you have the driving skills to meet the required standard without any further help.

However, the preparation of the entire set of modules involved a great deal of time and research and in an effort to recoup some of the costs incurred by Drivers World and to help with the running and ongoing development of the site a nominal charge for each module has to be made.

A charge of £3 will therefore be made for each module. You may download one at a time and build them into a ring binder, or take all eleven at the same time for the reduced price of £25.00. When you consider the huge fees charged by organisations providing A.D.I. training this really is a drop in the ocean and could prove to be a very worthwhile investment.

Just as a point of interest it is worth noting that Drivers World contributes a percentage of any revenue raised in the operation of this site to an organisation of children’s hospices based in the U.K. For more details on this see the link to ‘QUERCUS ROBUR’.

Click on the link above if you want to proceed further and gain access to the remaining eleven modules. Remember, you have got the first one completely FREE.

Drive Safely.
